Two Day Stay at Sycamore Creek Camping
Got to hang out in the desert for a couple of days. I especially enjoy this area because it is so easy to get to, and yet feels like its one thousand miles away. I appreciate that I can just drop off of a work call and go for a long walk or run before the next call or deliverable is due. Running can be done in the buff which brings its own kind of freedom. The creek is actually still flowing, so stream crossings are quite fun. It did get pretty warm the second day, but I had plenty of shade. I also like that I can jam tunes from my boom box as loud as I want, since there's no one around. Well, a bunch of cowboys came to heard up some cattle on the second day, so you could hear them helping about from time to time. The whole experience was wonderful, with cool nights dipping in to the 50s, warm breezy days, solid internet connectivity for work, beautiful desert sunsets and the freedom to get thousands of steps in at any time.
