Monday Tuesday Camping
Did a quick overnight camp out for some remote work and camping. Tested out the heater, which worked great. Got a run in as it was very isolated and it really isn’t the camping time of year. The creek was running so I got some cool pics of water, which itself was refreshing on the long hike up the trail.
It got down to 39 overnight, but the heater running on low kept an even 70 degrees inside. At 8 am, it seemed to just magically warm up. The sun charged up both my batteries within a few hours and they stayed full even with the fridge and work gear going full tilt.
The reason I called it quits after one day, is that as soon as the sun dipped behind the mountains, there was an immediate chill in the air that I wasn’t mentally prepared for. I put a layer of clothes on but it was no match for the brisk dry chill of a winter night in the desert.
A nearly full moon kept me company all night.

I got an evening hike in after the sun went down
The next morning, I ran nearly 2 miles just before Sun up. No camera on that run. It was chilly but the running and skullcap kept me warm.
Here’s a small beach I found with enough room to sit on a towel and read my book for a few minutes before heading back to camp.
